On November 23-27, 2015, members of the global evaluation community came together in Kathmandu, Nepal, for the Global Evaluation Week that marked the culmination of the EvalYear 2015 preceded by over 80 EvalYear events all over the world.

The Global Evaluation Week was made of several events, including the EvalPartners Global Evaluation Forum, Community of Evaluators South Asia Evaluation Conclave, EvalYear celebration in the Parliament of Nepal.

The EvalPartners Global Evaluation Forum was devoted to the finalization of the Global Evaluation Agenda 2016-2020 and planning the EvalPartners activities in 2016. It brought together over 130 participants from VOPEs, national governments, parliaments, civil society organizations, young & emerging evaluators, UN agencies and funders.

On November 25, delegates of both the EvalPartners Forum and the Conclave came together for a ceremony in the Parliament of Nepal and officially launched the Global Evaluation Agenda 2016-2020 and new EvalPartners networks that would advance its implementation: EvalGender+, EvalIndigenous, EvalYouth, EvalSDGs. It was the first time ever that evaluation event took place in and was hosted by the national parliament and was presided by the Speaker of the parliament.

Members of national parliaments from all over the world who participated EvalPartners Global Evaluation Forum agreed to establish the Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation that was also officially launched on November 25 in the parliament of Nepal.

The CoE SA Conclave was attended by more the 300 delegates. The conference was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Nepal. The Conclave participants engaged in 16 skills-development workshops, 26 panel sessions, and three plenary sessions.

The Global Evaluation Week took place despite all calamities that fell on Nepal in 2015: first two devastating earthquakes in April and May, and then the border blockade later in the year. It was made possible due to the committed leadership and support of the government and parliament of Nepal, as well as leaders of the CoE SA and EvalPartners.
