Description
The Parliamentarians Forum on Development Evaluation and the Latin American Parliament with support from UNEG, EvalPartners, UN Women, UNFPA, UNDP/IPC, ReLAC, IOCE and CLEAR Latin America, convened a meeting on 17 and 18 September in Panama to create and launch the Parliamentarians Forum for Latin America on Development Evaluation. They also lighted the Evaluation Torch and launched EvalYear at the Latin American Parliament.
The event brought together parliamentarians from 10 Latin American Countries namely, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Uruguay. The agenda included country presentations on national M&E systems; discussion on the role of Parliamentarians in development; the contribution of evaluation to transparency and accountability, among others.
